Michael Alves lives in Plano, Texas. He is a public high school teacher, bass player, husband, and father. He has been a member of The Townies, Mudville Nine, 12LB.TEST, the Irving Symphony Orchestra, and Oliver’s Army: The Elvis Costello Tribute. He is currently waiting for the stay at home order to be lifted so that he can get a new band together. Michael enjoys 3D printing, retro gaming, and co-hosting the AppleSauced podcast.
Bonnie B. lives in Allen, Texas and works as Public Services Librarian singing greatest hits such as “The Itsy-Bitsy Spider” weekly. As a vocalist, she spent several years performing with the UNT Jazz Singers, the UNT Steel Band, and as a musical director and performer for a regional theater. She is currently practicing at home in anticipation of resuming rehearsals with a yet unnamed band (since Mike Alves hasn’t shared the top-secret name yet). Recently, she has enjoyed planting a container garden and will graduate Pathways Core Training in “May…or June…or whenever we get to leave our houses again.”
Jack Bee lives in Denton, Texas. He is a visual artist, specializing in new media. He is also a writer, composer, and a percussionist. He was the drummer for Ballistic Pineapples, and is currently the drummer for The Troubadours, who have several releases on Bandcamp. Jack uses his storytelling, artistic, and musical talents in creating immersive TTRPG projects and fantasy.
Lucy Bartholomee is an artist, writer, teacher and traveler. Her musical training began in childhood studying piano, violin, flute, bassoon and voice. She performed with the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra for eight years as a bassoonist in addition to giving bassoon lessons and singing for pleasure with her family. Lucy teaches in the Art Education department at the University of Texas at Arlington, and teaches Aesthetics and Art History at UNT and TCC.
Russell Bartholomee is a public high school teacher in Arlington, Texas. He is also a husband, father, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and freelance writer. He’s been a member of The Monkey House and Oliver’s Army: The Elvis Costello Tribute. He enjoys wine, music, and film. Sometimes all together. He wants to be from New Orleans when he grows up.
D’Arcy Bryan-Wilson sings and plays autoharp and percussion with the Traveling Murphys, a Texas based folk/roots family band. She is also the band mom, literally. D’Arcy previously produced and performed with Fanny LaFaye’s Blue Burlesque show. D’Arcy is a gourmet cook who has spent the quarantine testing recipes on the Traveling Murphys for a new cookbook.
Michael Hill (left) was 13 years old when his cousin recorded AC/DC’s “For Those About to Rock” and “Oh No! It’s Devo” on either side of a TDK-D90 audio cassette for him, and unknowingly sent Michael off on a musical voyage that has found him alternating between spectator and participant ever since. Not only has he procured thousands of albums and attended hundreds of concerts, he’s performed – on guitar – with everyone from John Zorn to Slobberbone. He currently lives with his family in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he spends his time fly fishing, writing poems, and working as a remote research editor for a New York-based financial information company.
Steve Kautz, originally from Youngstown, Ohio, lives in McKinney, Texas, and works as Project Engineer in the Energy and Sustainability Services division for Schneider Electric. When he is not doing that he plays drums and percussion and enjoys family life as a husband and father. He has played in the Dallas Reggae Band, Tomi D n’ the Watu Wazuri, The Richland College Jazz Band, The Insofars, and Pendulum. He currently plays in Chin’s Mojo and is awaiting to form a new group with Michael Alves and friends. He enjoys building miniature houses and buildings, painting, and pen and Ink drawing.
Kevin Murphy is a husband, father, lawyer, guitarist and banjo player who lives in Brookside Village, Texas. He has played in Tir-Na-Nog, The New Memphis Hep Cats, and Murder the Stout. Currently the banjo player and dad in The Traveling Murphys. He is currently working remote and eager for human contact. Kevin enjoys traveling and sharing good food with his family.
Ian O’Padrick lives in Denton, Texas. He is a director, house manager, actor, singer, guitarist, son and a brother. He was the lead guitarist of Ballistic Pineapples, and worked on UNT’s productions of Hands on a Hard Body, I Gelosi, The Memory Project, and Nathan the Wise. He is currently the lead vocalist and guitarist of The Troubadours, as well as working solo shows when not in quarantine. Ian likes to play video games with simple and obvious ‘morality choices’ like Bioshock, as well as taking time to read books when he can.
Chris Stillo lives in Dallas, Texas and works as a Systems Architect in the semiconductor industry. He’s married and has a stepson. He is the keyboardist for Oliver’s Army: The Elvis Costello Tribute, and is one half of Common Collector, an electronic music duo.
The Traveling Murphys are a Houston, Texas, based family band playing what they call Texas roots music – a mix of Celtic, jug, bluegrass, old time country and folk music. They have played festivals all over the region and were nominated for a Houston Press Music Award for Best Local Video in 2013. Their first album, Honeysuckle Dreams, was released in Autumn 2013.
Chuck Voellinger plays guitar and lap steel guitar and works as a librarian in Denton, Texas. He is married to Erin O’Toole, and they have a cat named Izzy. He has been in a million bands in Denton, most recently Trotline. He spends his time trying to keep two 1963 Chevy Impalas running. He is also learning to cook Thai, Indian, and Vietnamese food.
Joanna Winchester is a retired Montessori toddler teacher. She lives in Boca Raton, Florida, with her wife, Barbara Overcash. She is also mother to Michael Alves, Karin True, and grandmother to Phoebe, Molly, and Lucy. She enjoys playing ukulele, guitar, flute, recorder, bluegrass bass, and singing. She has sung in many choirs, has been a member of Hill Country Express, and is currently performing with her Heartstrings Ukulele Group.
